StoryBoard

Here I created a storyboard in order to remain organised. We designed a series of illustrations displayed in the sequence that the film would be ordered in. This meant that we knew which direction the film was going in and how we were going to create each scene.

The first storyboards were created at the Walt Disney Studio during the early 1930s.
As you can see, the principle is exactly the same.

I found using a storyboard very useful as it helped us keep organised, when it came to filming the scenes for are short film.

What we did in the summer :)

Over the summer , Our group decided to change the idea of are short film because as we reviewed the treatment we realised that filming would be to hard for our group to coomplete the task. So to resolve this problem we redo some of the elements of the film . We decided to make the plot a little more simple so that we were able to create the film but not changing the genere. This unfourtunally means we have to redo some of planning meaning that we will be a few steps behind other groups.

Film Noir Research

I have done some research into the film noir. I looked at servile films that include Detour, which shows the normal cliches of the genre noir . I also looked at modern adaptions of the genre nior which included Shutter Island, the film showed similar things that would be in a noir film such as being dark and moody,However it did not follow all the normal cliches. This shows that films in this present time have changed in this genre since the beginning but still tries to capture some aspects of it.

Pre Production - PART 3

I did some independent research into pre productions on short films . Usually how long the pre production takes for a short film depends on the length of the film and the scale of the production as well as the fiances. A script is usually drafted over and over again and is then put through a lot of re-writes before it is actually finalized.

it is known that the pre production takes up to 1 week to 3 months whereas features can take minimum 6 months to several years.

By looking at this research of how long a pre production can take, it gives are group a basic idea of what we need to do. However we do not have a year to spend on the pre production alone , so as a group we scaled the pre production time down to fit into our schedule,so that we are ready by the final deadline. Also we are not a big production company with huge finances and facilities, so we automatically have to scale it down to fit what we have to work with. While at the same time creating a good film that pleases the target audience

Also I looked at what else we needed to put in the pre production and as a group we have to scale the time down again to fit it all in and to match with the facilities that we were able to use while not breaking the bank. The reason for this is that Unlike other major production companies we don't have the big finances to make a expensive film. However this will not stop us from making a great film because as a group we will use what we have creatively to make something useful. The things that we needed to include in the pre production was the Casting of the actors, location scouts, props getting ready, sets being built, equipment being hired, finances secured.
