Pre Production - PART 3

I did some independent research into pre productions on short films . Usually how long the pre production takes for a short film depends on the length of the film and the scale of the production as well as the fiances. A script is usually drafted over and over again and is then put through a lot of re-writes before it is actually finalized.

it is known that the pre production takes up to 1 week to 3 months whereas features can take minimum 6 months to several years.

By looking at this research of how long a pre production can take, it gives are group a basic idea of what we need to do. However we do not have a year to spend on the pre production alone , so as a group we scaled the pre production time down to fit into our schedule,so that we are ready by the final deadline. Also we are not a big production company with huge finances and facilities, so we automatically have to scale it down to fit what we have to work with. While at the same time creating a good film that pleases the target audience

Also I looked at what else we needed to put in the pre production and as a group we have to scale the time down again to fit it all in and to match with the facilities that we were able to use while not breaking the bank. The reason for this is that Unlike other major production companies we don't have the big finances to make a expensive film. However this will not stop us from making a great film because as a group we will use what we have creatively to make something useful. The things that we needed to include in the pre production was the Casting of the actors, location scouts, props getting ready, sets being built, equipment being hired, finances secured.
