Ancillary task 2 Film poster part 1

The second task that we have decided to undertake is a film poster. In are research for the film poster we found out that there is different types of posters . Teaser posters, character posters, motion posters and remix posters are different ways of getting the film known to the public before the real poster comes out. We decided that we wanted to try and do a teaser poster as well as the film poster. A teaser poster or advance poster is early promotion of the film. A teaser poster is sometimes released way before production on the film has started ,although issues happen during the film development. usually a teaser poster contains a basic image or design without revealing too much information such as the plot, theme, and characters.A tag line may be included. The teaser poster is meant to create incite of awareness and generate hype for the film. Whereas the film poster has a different job. Posters are usually printed in different sizes and has different content for various domestic and international markets. The poster normally contains an image and text. The film title is normally in large lettering and often the names of the main actors. It may also include a tag line, the name of the director, names of characters, the release date. Also the image is usually big and eye catching so that it can stand out. Film posters purpose is to grab the attention of the public and convince them to watch the film and to delivery important information to the audience.

I wanted to show some of the research that we found because it interesting to see how technology has moved on so far that there are servile types of film posters. This can be demonstrated by the following examples.

character Posters:

A film with an ensemble cast there may be a set of character posters, each featuring an individual character from the film. Usually it contains the name of the actor/actress, with or without the name of the character played. It may also include a tagline that reflects the quality of the character.

Motion Poster

The most recent type of poster in which the poster is animated.

Remix Poster

A poster that has been altered or "remixed" to change the intent of the original film poster. A remixed poster often contains a political or comedic message, using the credibility of the film poster format to deliver the message of whoever is creating the remixed poster.
